Solutions: QuickTime error shouldn't require reformatting 
While attempting to watch a video with QuickTime Windows XP Home, I received an error message that said ActiveX control was missing. I was unable to resolve this problem. I was advised by Gateway to back up my files, format my hard drive and reinstall Windows.
